NOPD Arrests Suspect in Homicide Investigation

On April 24, 2024, the NOPD arrested Nayiondra A. Woolridge (black female, DOB: 12-25-1991) in the investigation of a homicide that occurred on April 22, 2024, in the 300 block of Ptolemy Street.

At about 7:03 p.m. on April 22, NOPD Fourth District officers responded to a call of a shooting at the location. Upon arrival, officers located an adult female gunshot wound victim on scene. The victim was transported via EMS to a local hospital, where she was later declared deceased.

Through investigation, NOPD Homicide Section detectives determined Wooldridge to be the perpetrator in this incident. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Wooldridge on one count of second degree murder and two counts of aggravated assault.

On April 24, NOPD officers located and arrested Woolridge at a residence in the Seventh District. Wooldridge was booked accordingly into the Orleans Parish Justice Center.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
